    • Welcome

As the vicar of Christ in the diocese entrusted to his care, the Bishop carries out his threefold ministry as teacher of doctrine, a priest of sacred worship, and a minister of governance. He has all the ordinary, proper, and immediate power required for the exercise of his pastoral office.

As vicar and legate of Christ, the Bishop governs by his counsel, exhortation, and example, as well as by the authority and sacred power which he exercises for the spiritual development of his people.

Most Rev. David L. Toups, S.Th.D.
Bishop of the Diocese of Beaumont

    • Thank You For Sharing In Our Need

We give thanks to our God at our every remembrance of our generous stewards, our pastors, parish leaders and all those who partner with us in grace to carry out the work of Jesus through diocesan ministries and Catholic Charities of Southeast Texas.  We pray always with joy in our hearts at our every thought of them. Remembering how they have helped us to spread the Good News. We are confident the One who began this good work in them will continue to complete it until the day of Christ Jesus.

    • As the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) gathered for their Fall Plenary Assembly in Baltimore, the bishops issued a Special Message addressing their concern for the evolving situation impacting immigrants in the United States. It marked the first time in twelve years the USCCB invoked this particularly urgent way of speaking as a body of bishops. The last one issued in 2013 was in response to the federal government’s contraceptive mandate.

La última vez que lo hizo fue en 2013, en respuesta al mandato federal sobre anticonceptivos.

    • Tuesday, November 4, the bishops of Texas issued a statement about a federal court decision which is imminently expected to change nearly 90,000 Texans’ presence in our country from lawful to unlawful. This decision will only impact people in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program residing in Texas (and not any other state). You can read Bishop Toups' letter below and find the full statement of the Texas bishops and more information here.
