All Employees of the Diocese of Beaumont or its institutions who work 30 hours or more per week at one or a combination of two or more locations are eligible for Diocesan benefits. Employees of adopting employer Catholic Charities of Southeast Texas who work 30 or more hours per week are also eligible for Diocesan benefits. Benefits include medical, prescription and dental insurance (at an employee contributory cost of $50 per month), life, accidental death and dismemberment, and long-term disability insurance. In addition, eligible employees are automatically enrolled in the Diocese of Beaumont 401(k) Defined Contribution Plan.

All eligible employees (including those who choose not to participate in the medical, prescription and dental plan) of a Diocesan institution or Catholic Charities of Southeast Texas, will be provided life, accidental death and dismemberment, and long-term disability insurance at no cost to the employee.
The Term Life insurance carrier is UNUM. The death benefit for the term life is equal to 150% of your annual salary up to a maximum of $150,000.
Long-Term Disability insurance for lay employees is also carried through UNUM. The benefit pays 60% of your monthly salary up to a maximum of $7000 in coordination with any other income benefits you may receive concurrently.
Long-term disability for diocesan priests incardinated in the Diocese of Beaumont is provided for in the defined benefit plan.
Long-term disability for religious personnel is the responsibility of each respective religious community.
*Worker’s Compensation Insurance is covered through an insurance carrier other than CBEBT. All job-related injuries should be reported to your supervisor immediately. Medical claims for job related injuries must be filed with the Workers’ Compensation carrier NOT with CBEBT or your personal major medical insurance carrier.
Defined Benefit Plan for Diocesan Priests: Contributions to the Defined Benefit Plan are made exclusively by the employer. A priest incardinated in the Diocese of Beaumont is fully vested after 10 years of service.
